17th RECONNAISSANCE WING RAF ALCONBURY ENGLAND

The
95th Reconnaissance Squadron was form in October 1981 at RAF ALCONBURY
under the 17th Reconnaissance Wing flying the TR-1.The main activities
of the TR-1 were stand off SIGINT / COMINT, in the European
theatre
in support of NATO.
After involvement in Desert Shield/ Storm the 17th RW asset were absorbed into the 9th RW and Operations were moved to RAF FAIRFORD March 1995 under Operating Location - United Kingdom( OL-UK FAIRFORD). Moving later in DEC 95 to ISTRES AB France as OL- OF |
