I HAVE IT

	The first MC-12W aircraft arrived at Beale AFB in early of summer 2011. Initially, seven aircraft will be used for mission qualification training. The Air Force will continue to keep the majority of MC-12W aircraft deployed.

Consolidated (1958) with 489th Bombardment Squadron (Medium) which was constituted on 10 August 1942 ,Activated on 20 August 1942 assigned 57th Bomb Wing, Inactivated on 7 November 1945 .Re-designated 489th Bombardment Squadron (Light) on 24 October 1947 ,Activated in the reserve on 10 November 1947 , Inactivated on 27 June 1949 ,Re-designated 489th Bombardment Squadron (Medium) on 11 August 1958 , Activated on 1 October 1958 , Discontinued, and inactivated on 1 January 1962.

Mission
The MC-12W is a medium- to low-altitude, twin-engine turboprop aircraft. The primary mission is providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, support directly to ground forces. The MC-12W is a joint forces air component commander asset in support of the joint force commander.

The MC-12W is a complete collection, processing, analysis and dissemination system. The aircraft are military versions of the Hawker Beech Super King Air 350 and Super King 350ER. A fully operational system consists of a modified aircraft with sensors, a ground exploitation cell, line-of-sight and satellite communications data inks, along with a robust voice communications suite.

The aircraft is equipped with an electro-optical infrared sensor and other sensors as the mission requires. The EO/IR sensor also includes a laser illuminator and designator in a single sensor package. The MC-12 system is capable of worldwide operations

United States Air Forces Central Command is the air component of United States Central Command, a regional unified command. USAFCENT is responsible for air operations (either unilaterally or in concert with coalition partners and developing contingency plans in support of national objectives for USCENTCOM's 20-nation area of responsibility in Southwest Asia. Additionally, USAFCENT manages an extensive supply and equipment pre-positioning program at several AOR sites.

The Global Hawk , U-2 Dragon Lady and MC-12W's when deployed fall under the Command of USAFCENT.
